ESTIMATOR & PROJECT MONITOR

As an Estimator & Project Monitor you will be reporting to the Manager, Estimating and will be responsible for assisting and supporting the project teams on project monitoring reports and quantity takeoffs. In addition, you will also be accountable for determining project scopes, providing accurate quantities, and managing deadlines, and be able to review and interpret construction documents, work collaboratively within a team environment, and communicate clearly with others.

Responsibilities
Estimating
  • Reviews project documents and determine scope of work.​​​​​​​
  • Sets-up estimate templates and enters quantity-take off into summary sheets.
  • Completes detailed quantification of building elements based on drawings and specifications. 
  • Reviews completed estimate for completeness and complete quality assurance checks.
  • Develops project profiles and historical data.
  • Assists the Manager, Estimating in completion of class D, C, B and A estimates.
Project Monitoring
  • Prepares Loan Monitoring reports.
  • Performs site inspections & documentation including photographs & related loan schedules.
  • Assists in the completion of initial project reviews including assembling of required documents, area takeoffs and documentation review.
  • Coordinates the completion of required forms and templates for projects. 
  • Manages historical cost data for future use in company database.
Processes and Documentation
  • Assists in the development of process documentation that encompasses scope of work.
  • Collaborates with peers to develop comprehensive documents.
  • Reviews and updates as required.
Stakeholder Relations
  • Manages relationship with stakeholders, to keep abreast of project updates and milestones.
  • Communicates internally any updates and/or concerns to ensure project remains on time and budget.
Experience & Education
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science or in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, Excel, Word.
  • Ability to work & communicate with a team .
  • Ability to work independently, be organized and manage your time to meet deadlines.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
